Monthly REading Calendar
Students should be reading 20 minutes, 5 times a week. Every month they should read at least 400 minutes. On the first day of the month I will pass out a monthly reading calendar, students are expected to write the name of their book and the number of minutes read each day, parents should then initial each day that their child read. This is a large portion of your reading grade, it is so important that you get it in on time.
I have provided a monthly pdf that you can download if you happen to misplace to calendar I give you.
Each semester you will be required to read 5 different books. You can only read one in each category of your Reading wheel (You can read up to 5 Your Choice books). After you read a book bring in the reading wheel form completed and signed by a parent or guardian.
Non Fiction books only need to be 50 pages
Fiction books only need to be 150
If you read a 300 page book I will count it as 2 books, If you read a 450 page book I will count it as 3 books.
Each book is worth 30 points, but any book you read after your 5th book will count for 15 extra credit points.
Reading Wheel Forms are found in the classroom as well as here.
