Lesson 2.1 - Fractions and Decimals
Objective: I can convert between fractions and decimals.
Terminating Decimal: a decimal number that ends, or terminates
Repeating Decimal: a decimal number that has a block of one or more digits that repeats continuously
Mixed Numbers: a number represented by a whole number and a fraction
Simplest Form: a fraction in which 1 is the only number that can be divided evenly into the numerator and the denominator
Lesson 2.2 - Compare and Order Fractions and Decimals
Objective: I can compare and order fractions and decimals.
Equivalent Fractions: two or more fractions that name the same amount
Common Denominator: a common multiple of the denominators of two or more fractions
Lesson 2.3 - Multiply Fractions
Objective: I can multiply fractions.
Lesson 2.4 - Simplify Factors
Objective: I can simplify fractional factors by using the greatest common factor
Lesson 2.5 - Investigate * Model Fraction Division
Objective: I can use a model to show division of fractions.
Lesson 2.6 - Estimate Quotients
Objective: I can use compatible numbers to estimate quotients of fractions and mixed numbers.
Compatible Numbers: numbers that are easy to compute with mentally
Lesson 2.7 - Divide Fractions
Objective: I can divide fractions.
Reciprocals: one of two numbers whose product is 1.
Multiplicative Inverse: one of two numbers whose product is 1.
Lesson 2.8 - Investigate * Model Mixed Number Division
Objective: I can use a model to show division of mixed numbers
Lesson 2.9 - Divide Mixed Numbers
Objective: I can divide mixed numbers.
